A laterite patio with lions goes before a stage, utilized as a Buddhist porch, encompassed by steles or "sema", at the furthest end of which one can at present see the platform that conveyed the symbol. Simply behind, raised on a triple plinth of formed sandstone and basically demolished, is the central asylum. This is a late development, committed to the Buddha - whom one can see under the Bodhi tree on the eastern fronton - and appears to have taken the spot of a unique Brahmanic prasat, of which the essential laterite base has been increased by the expansion of two ensuing sandstone levels. The colonnettes and lintels are in rose hued sandstone in the style of Banteay Srei (end of the tenth century). They are very much protected and finely created - some have been re-cut. Only north of the Bayon, two parallel streets running north-south casing a long rectangle of 720 meters by 80, converged towards their center by a street that runs east from the antiquated's pivot Royal Palace and prompts the Victory Gate (the east side of Angkor Thom). We prescribe that a visit is best made in the morning to the landmarks arranged on the fundamental's west street, where one can meander along the Elephant Terrace - obtaining entrance by its focal stairway - to then visit progressively the Leper's Terrace King, the Buddha of Tep Pranam, Prah Palilay, the Royal Palace with Phimeanakas, to complete with the Baphuon. This little tower, built in blocks which are littler than those utilized at Pre Rup, is arranged somewhat toward the north-east of this landmark at around 100 meters from the street. With basic moldings it demonstrates no hint of any embellishment or mortar. The false entryways are in brickwork and the asylum chamber, of just 2m.30 in width, opens toward the east. The sandstone lintel demonstrates Indra on a three headed elephant surmounted by a frieze of little figures in supplication to God. Behind is a twofold timber bar. The engravings on the door frames portray different gifts and gives the date of 960 - which is sooner than Pre Rup by one year. After the ninth kilometer marker stone and just past the course Fombertaux prompting the eastern passage of Prah Khan, one takes a woods track to one side. At around 100 meters on the left, roosted on a hillock, stands Prasat Prei.
