Monument 486
Date: late, with elements from the end of the 10th century
Cult Brahmanic, then Buddhist
Clearing H. Marchal in 1918
A laterite patio with lions goes before a stage, utilized as a Buddhist porch, encompassed by steles or "sema", at the furthest end of which one can at present see the platform that conveyed the symbol. Simply behind, raised on a triple plinth of formed sandstone and basically demolished, is the central asylum. This is a late development, committed to the Buddha - whom one can see under the Bodhi tree on the eastern fronton - and appears to have taken the spot of a unique Brahmanic prasat, of which the essential laterite base has been increased by the expansion of two ensuing sandstone levels.
The colonnettes and lintels are in rose hued sandstone in the style of Banteay Srei (end of the tenth century). They are very much protected and finely created - some have been re-cut. One can perceive, toward the east, Shiva on Nandin (the consecrated bull) and toward the north, Indra on an elephant.(11). The cruciform asylum chamber is 2m.00 by 2m.30 at the middle and open to the four tomahawks.
Two other later havens opening toward the east are adjusted on the main tower to either side of it. They are determined to the same base-stage and consequently much lower, however just a couple parts of disintegrating divider remain - especially of the southern. On the northern tower one can in any case see, over the false western entryway etched with a standing Buddha with a flaring "ushnisha", the lower courses of a fronton with a sitting Buddha. The false southern entryway likewise remains verging on in place.
A few frontons have been recreated on the encompassing ground. They are enhanced with entirely strange themes, - specifically a stylised botanical design, a huge head of Kala, and an ewer with a mouth as a winged animals nose. For the most part the lines are adjusted and the different components gravely weakened.
